Age Verification Survey
In accordance with regulations of the US Department of Housing and Urban Development (HUD), all occupants in a “55 and older” community, whether owners, renters, or house guests of absentee owners or renters, must show evidence that at least one resident in the occupied dwelling unit is age qualified. This age verification is supposed to occur at least every two years. (Department of Housing and Urban Development: 24 CFR Part 100.)
Any of the following documents is considered reliable documentation of the age of the occupants of the housing facility or community:
The due date for this survey is July 30, 2025.
If at least one resident is not 55 or older, you must still complete this survey. The HUD regulation states that at least 80% of the units must be occupied by at least one resident 55 or older. Remember that occupants under the age of 18 are never allowed on a permanent basis.
You do not need to present the document of proof at this time; simply indicate which document you have that would prove your age in the event it is needed.

- Driver’s license
- Birth certificate
- Passport
- Immigration card
- Military identification
- Any other state, local, national, or international official documents containing a birth date of comparable reliability
